Valmet Automotive käynnisti aurinkosähköauton tuotannon

Valmet Automotive käynnisti Lightyear 0 -aurinkosähköauton sarjatuotannon Uudenkaupungin autotehtaalla. Se on maailman ensimmäinen sarjatuotantovaiheeseen edennyt aurinkosähköauto.

Uudestakaupungista lähtee tulevaisuudessa maailmalle Lightyear 0 aurinkosähköautoja. Lightyear 0 on hollantilaisen Lightyear-teknologiayhtiön uuden sukupolven sähköauto, joka hyödyntää aurinkoenergiaa tehokkaasti, ja jonka kehitystyössä on painotettu kestävää kehitystä. Lightyear 0 on maailman ensimmäinen sarjatuotantovaiheeseen edennyt aurinkosähköauto (solar electric vehicle, SEV).

Valmet Automotive on rakentanut auton valmistusta varten uuden tuotantotilan.

Sujuvalla yhteistyöllä olemme varmistaneet, että tämä ainutlaatuinen aurinkosähköauto tulee asiakkaiden saataville”, totesi Valmet Automotiven toimitusjohtaja Olaf Bongwald tuotannon avajaistilaisuudessa Uudessakaupungissa.

Valmet Automotive julkisti valmistussopimuksen Lightyearin kanssa heinäkuussa 2021.
