Turkulaisen New Dawn Films -tuotantoyhtiön The Name of the Game -dokumenttielokuva on julkaistu Amazon Prime -suoratoistopalvelussa englanninkielisissä maissa. Palvelun kautta elokuva tulee saataville esimerkiksi Yhdysvalloissa yli 100 miljoonalle käyttäjälle.

Elokuvan ovat ohjanneet Paul J. Vogel (Pimeällä Polulla, Phantom Spectre) ja Jarno Elonen (Bitwisards). Elokuvan osatuottajana toimi X-Men-elokuvien tuottaja Jason Taylor (X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse).

The Name of the Game on komediallinen dokumenttielokuva, jossa seurataan legendaarisen arcade-pelien suunnittelija Eugene Jarvisin ja Suomen vanhimman pelinkehittäjä Housemarquen yhteistyötä. The Name of the Gamen vaiherikas matka antaa katsojalle ainutkertaisen – ja sensuroimattoman – pääsyn ennakoimattomaan ja hulluun videopelin teon maailmaan sekä kotimaisen peliteollisuuden kansainvälistymiseen.

– On mielenkiintoista kuulla, miten amerikkalaiset ottavat elokuvan vastaan. Elokuva on kuitenkin pohjimmiltaan hyvin ”suomalainen”, vaikka päähenkilöt ovatkin kaikki eri maista ja puhuvat keskenään englantia. Televisiota katsotaan tällä hetkellä tavallista enemmän korona-rajoitusten takia, joten toivottavasti elokuvan myös löytää mahdollisimman moni, toteaa Turun Taideakatemian ja sittemmin USC School of Cinematic Arts -yliopiston kasvatti Paul J. Vogel, joka asuu Los Angelesissa.

The Name of the Game julkaistiin elokuvateatterilevitykseen Suomessa 23.11.2018.
