Medicortex Finland on kertonut sopineensa yhteistyöstä kanadalaisen Pro-Lab Diagnostics -yhtiön kanssa. Pro-Lab tulee vastaamaan aivovamman nopeaan diagnosointiin käytettävän ProTBI -testin regulatiivisesta prosessista Kanadassa ja Isossa-Britanniassa. Medicortexin kehittämällä testillä kyetään diagnosoimaan virtsa- tai sylkinäytteestä tapaturmainen aivovamma. Sopimus antaa Pro-Labille oikeudet testin myyntiin kyseisillä markkinoilla sekä Medicortexille rojaltit myynnistä.

Pro-Lab Diagnostics vastaa kliinisestä validoinnista ennen kaupallista lanseerausta markkinoille. Yhtiöt aikovat keskustella myös muista yhteistyömahdollisuuksista.

Tämä on meille tärkeä virstanpylväs, mutta vielä merkittävämpi askel tämä on aivotärähdyksestä tai tapaturmaisesta aivovammasta kärsiville, joiden odotamme hyötyvän uuden merkkiaineen käytöstä diagnosoinnissa, sanoo Medicortex Finlandin perustaja ja toimitusjohtaja Adrian Harel.

Medicortexin mukaan uudelle merkkiaineelle on globaali tarve, sillä nykyiset oireiden arviointiin perustuvat diagnosointi- ja kuvantamismenetelmät ovat riittämättömiä diffuusin aksonivaurion kohdalla.
