Laajentunut tarjonta nosti Turun lentoaseman matkustajamäärää

  • Eniten kasvoi kansainvälisillä reiteillä matkustaneiden määrä

Vuosi 2019 oli Finavian lentoasemilla vilkas, vaikka lentoliikenteen kasvu oli aiempia vuosia maltillisempi. Reitti- ja tilauslennoilla lensi yhteensä 26,0 miljoonaa matkustajaa (+4,2 %).

Turun lentoaseman hyvä kehitys jatkui edelleen ja lentoaseman matkustajamäärä kasvoi 453 000 matkustajaan (+ 22,6 %). Kasvuvauhti oli Finavian kentistä kovinta ja noin viisi kertaa suurempi kuin kentillä keskimäärin. Turkua vilkkaampia kenttiä olivat Helsinki-Vantaan ohella Oulun (1 057 000 matkustajaa) ja Rovaniemen (661 000 matkustajaa) kentät.

Turun suorat yhteydet Eurooppaan laajenivat viime vuonna merkittävästi. Kansainvälisillä reiteillä matkustaneita oli kolme neljäsosaa eli 346 000 matkustajaa. Turusta eniten matkustajia lensi viime vuonna Puolan Gdanskiin. Puolan kohteiden ohella tärkeitä ovat Tukholman ja Riian reitit, jotka tarjoavat Helsinki-Vantaan ohella lisää kansainvälisiä jatkoyhteyksiä Turun kenttää käyttäville.

Ensi kesänä 2020 Turusta avautuu uusi reitti Puolan Varsovaan, ja loppuvuodesta Georgian Kutaisiin.
