BalticSatApps – Speeding up Copernicus innovation for the BSR environment and security

Toteutusaika: 1.7.2017 – 31.12.2020

Hankepartnerit: Projektissa on mukana yhteensä 11 partneria. Partnerit ovat kaukokartoitusaineistoista vastaavia organisaatioita, innovaatiotoiminnan asiantuntijaorganisaatioita sekä yrityskiihdyttämöjä Suomesta, Virosta, Puolasta, Ruotsista ja Venäjältä. Projekti ottaa huomioon EU:n Copernicus-ohjelman toimenpiteet sekä Euroopan avaruusjärjestön oman kiihdyttämöntoiminnan käynnistämisen Itämeren alueella.

Rahoitus: Baltic Sea Region Interreg 2014 – 2020. Kokonaisbudjetti 2,8 miljoonaa euroa.

Sisältö: BalticSatApps-projektin tarkoituksena on vauhdittaa kaukokartoitusaineistoihin ja -palveluihin liittyvän liiketoiminnan kehittymistä Itämeren alueella. Ala kasvaa voimakkaasti ja sen on ennustettu Euroopassa työllistävän 83 000 ihmistä ja sen liikevaihdon kasvavan 6,9 miljardiin euroon. Kaukokartoitusta hyödynnetään nyt vaihtelevasti lähinnä viranomaistoiminnassa ja tutkimuksessa, mutta sillä on valtava potentiaali myös yksityisen sektorin palveluntuotannossa.

Projektissa toteutetaan kolme työpakettia:
1) Info- ja koulutustilaisuuksien järjestäminen
2) Käyttäjälähtöisten innovaatioiden synnyttäminen
3) Kaukokartoitus- ja avaruusteknologian yrityskiihdyttämötoiminnan kehittäminen
