XXL protects their products with Noccela throughout Finland

  • A Finnish growth Company Noccela expands its cooperation with sport retail chain XXL
  • XXL will be using the smart indoor positioning-based anti-theft tags in their stores nationwide
  • Founded in 2014, it has grown to be a company with more than 20 employees

XXL, the largest sports retail chain in the Nordics, has decided to expand its cooperation with Noccela, a Turku-based growth company, after reducing their shrinkage significantly with the help of Noccela’s new anti-theft alarm tags. The retail chain will be using the smart indoor positioning-based anti-theft tags in their stores nationwide.

The new generation of anti-theft tags was initially tested in one store, and the results were tangible. “The Noccela-protected products have been left alone,” says Iiro Oravisjärvi, Operations Manager at XXL. “We’ve been using the alarm tags on certain easy-to-steal products, and the shrinkage of these products fell to a minimum during the trial,” Oravisjärvi continues.

The shrinkage caused by shoplifting is especially a problem for certain product categories. “Typically, professional thieves are interested in products with a good resale value. This means new seasonal products as well as branded products. XXL sells both of these,” clarifies Toni Stenström, Sales Manager at Noccela. He says the cooperation with XXL has been smooth. “XXL is an agile player that’s able to recognize the opportunities in new things and identify their results,” Stenström says.

Noccela’s growth has been fast. Founded in 2014, it has grown to be a company with more than 20 employees through two rounds of financing, and it is now aiming to take its solution abroad.

“I have been discussing this at our main office in Norway too, and the other Nordic countries have indeed been following the development of our shrinkage with great interest,” adds Oravisjärvi of XXL.
