HealthTurku Cluster Awarded with Bronze Label of ECEI

  • HealthTurku holds a Bronze Label for cluster excellence as part of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI)
  • HealthTurku is the only cluster in Finland to ever receive the label

The European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) awarded HealthTurku with the Bronze Label for cluster excellence as part of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI).

As the only cluster in Finland to ever receive a Bronze Label for cluster excellence in the field of Health and Medical Science, HealthTurku belongs to 27 Life-Science clusters worldwide that hold an active Bronze Label. Since the launch of this initiative in 2009, a total of 81 Health and Medical Science clusters were awarded the bronze label.

By receiving the Bronze Label, HealthTurku was benchmarked for demonstrating its interest in striving for excellence. As to ESCA’s official homepage, the benchmarking analysis, conducted by an impartial ESCA benchmarking expert, covers 36 indicators inspecting the structure of the cluster, the cluster management and the governance of the cluster, financing of the cluster management, services provided by the cluster management, contacts and interaction within the cluster and achievements and recognition of the cluster.

The European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA), a network of cluster experts from more than 30 countries, is part of the EU efforts to create more world-class clusters across the EU.
