Globaali kysyntä koronavirusrokotteista ylittää tarjonnan. Elomatic on mukana helpottamassa maailmanlaajuista pulaa COVID-rokotteista vastaamalla kahden rokotetuotantolaitoksen suunnittelusta Etelä-Intiaan.

Koronarokotteista on maailmanlaajuisesti kova kysyntä.

Esimerkiksi YK on korostanut koronapandemiassa Intian potentiaalia rokotevalmistajana.

– Elomaticilla on toimipiste myös Intiassa, joten työ saatiin aloitettua tehokkaasti jo viime vuonna, kertoo Elomaticin toimitusjohtaja.

– Koronarokotteesta on tulossa influenssarokotteen kaltainen vuosittainen tarve ja sen vuoksi valmistuskapasiteettia on nostettava rajusti maailmassa ja kansallisesti, sanoo Elomaticin Process & Energy toimialan johtaja Markku S. Lehtinen.

Ensimmäinen tuotantolaitos keskittyy koronavirusrokotteiden massatuotantoon. Asiakas on rokotteiden valmistuksen yksi markkinajohtaja Intiassa huomattavalla vientiosuudella. Tehtaan on tarkoitus valmistua loppuvuodesta 2021.

Toinen koronarokotteiden tehdas valmistuu maaliskuussa 2022. Laitoksen on tilannut kansainvälinen rokotevalmistaja, joka toimii tiiviissä yhteistyössä WHO:n ja Unicefin kanssa

Intiassa valmistuvat rokotteet on tarkoitus viedä Australiaan, Yhdysvaltoihin, APAC, Afrikkaan ja mahdollisesti muille alueille.
