Maritime Growth Programme refreshed

  • Maritime Growth is looking for large maritime industry companies to take part in its 2021 programme
  • The programme helps large companies to find new innovations that strengthen their competitive edge to improve their operations and develop new products
  • For growth companies the programme provides an opportunity to find new, strategically significant clients

The name of the Turku Science Park Ltd. growth programme that supports the growth of the maritime industry and facilitates the forging of new partnerships in the industry has been revamped. The new name for the programme, which has been running since 2018 under the title Maritime Accelerator, is now Maritime Growth. The new title reflects how the focus of the programme has shifted slightly from fresh startups to more established growth companies. At the same time, Vertical, which specialises in consulting innovative growth companies, has partnered with Turku Science Park Ltd. in organising the programme and finding new growth companies.

Maritime Growth programme brings together growth companies and large partner companies in maritime industry.

Additionally, the programme’s contents and website have received changes. The organisers are prepared for a hybrid approach, which enables relevant COVID-19 restrictions on public assembly to be observed if necessary. The search for partner companies for the 2021 programme is still ongoing. The pandemic has brought additional challenges for the maritime industry, but the goal is that during the coming weeks, the programme could be confirmed to take place, and thus the search for growth companies could commence in March. Large companies interested in the innovation and product development opportunities provided by Maritime Growth can reach out to the programme’s contact personnel.

– During the COVID-19 crisis, the operational environment of the maritime industry has been faced with formidable challenges. At the same time, however, the significance of innovative thinking is a more important factor in competitiveness than previously. Bringing various kinds of solutions which are valuable in terms of climate change and which promote sustainability to the market is an increasingly important prerequisite for success post-COVID-19, says Growth Advisor Sofia Pihlava from Turku Science Park Ltd.
