The six-episode series Made in Finland begins shooting next week in the northern part of the country, after which the shoot moves towards Nokia’s hometown of Salo. The Salo and Turku regions will function as an authentic setting in a story that is familiar to many Finns.

The West Finland Film Commission markets the Turku and Salo regions as locations for both Finnish and international productions, and they have negotiated the shoot to take place in Salo and Turku.

– The Made in Finland series has great international potential due to the talented cast and crew working on it and the uniquely fascinating and well-known brand, says Teija Raninen, Film Commissioner at the West Finland Film Commission. The Commission operates under the regional development company Turku Science Park Ltd.

–  Collaboration with the West Finland Film Commission has been incredibly smooth. The assistance they have provided to small and large productions is huge, comments producer Tiina Pesonen.

–  During my career I have worked together with Film Commissioner Teija Raninen a lot, so every time I get to bring a production to the Turku region it feels like I’m coming back to my home away from home. The Commission’s extensive experience with all kinds of productions is fantastic at tailoring each production with whatever they need, and we have made wonderful new connections in various fields through them.

Salo is preparing to welcome the cast and crew.

– We are excited and curious about the start of the filming here in Salo and, of course, about the entire series. The Nokia story is also the story of Salo and especially of the people living here, and it deserves to be told in this format as well. Having the shoot in Salo is also something new for us, and along with all of the positive publicity, it will also benefit local companies, for example, says Tero Nissinen, the Mayor of Salo.

The show stars Satu-Tuuli Karhu, Emil Kihlström, Aku Sipola, Oona Airola and Sampo Sarkola. The C More original series Made in Finland premieres on the streaming service C More in the spring of 2022.
