On 21 June, Elomatic Oy has established a subsidiary in Germany, Elomatic Maritime Technologies, which will focus on ship design and offshore wind power structures. The aim is to increase the resource of top professionals internationally, as Elomatic has a huge number of challenging jobs available in the industry, especially in the field of marine engineering structures. The company will initially employ around 30 people.
Wismar, a Hanseatic city, was chosen as the location for the office, as the MV Werften shipyard area is home to a large number of experienced shipbuilding and offshore construction professionals. In addition, Wismar is a strategic coastal town for the rapidly growing offshore wind farm investments in Germany and the Baltic Sea region.
The new German subsidiary complements Elomatic’s solid ship design expertise. With its establishment, Elomatic significantly strengthens its concept and basic design expertise and its capacity to provide excellence to shipping companies, operators and shipyards around the world.
“I am really happy to welcome a group of true shipbuilding professionals to our team. Their experience with offshore wind power ships and infrastructures, green technologies, Arctic ships, governmental vessels and cruise ships strengthens every area where Elomatic wants to be number one in the world”, says Rami Hirsimäki, Senior Vice President of Elomatic.
“Elomatic provides a good foundation for building a ship design unit in Germany. We bring strong expertise to both to the German and Elomatic’s traditional markets”, says Guido Schulte, CEO of the established company.
